SUMMARY:Voices and Votes Reading and Discussion Group
DESCRIPTION:The Liverpool Public Library and the Onondaga Historical Association collaborate to bring this small group reading and discussion group to the community. The OHA will be host to the Smithsonian’s exhibit “Voices and Votes” from April 18 – May 30 at the Skä•noñh Great Law of Peace Center.  This 3-part series will provide participants with a chance to discover and discuss on a deeper level topics related to the exhibit. \nParticipants can pick up materials beginning March 1 at the Information Desk at Liverpool Public Library. \nAt this program\, we will discuss “Loguen: The Reverand J.W. Loguen\, as a Slave and as a Freeman: Narrative of Real Life” \nFacilitated by Onondaga Historical Association’s Curator of History Robert Searing. \nRegister for this event by visiting https://www.lpl.org/events/programs-and-events/events-calendar/ \n \nVoices and Votes is a Museum on Main Street (MoMS) exhibition developed by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. It’s based on an exhibition by the National Museum of American History. It has been made possible in New York State by the Museum Association of New York. Support for MoMS in New York State has been provided by the United States Congress and the William G. Pomeroy Foundation. \n“A New Agora for New York: Museums as Spaces for Democracy” humanities discussion programs are made possible in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
