Washington St.\, Syracuse\, NY\nFree and open to the public \nExplore the remarkable career of Japanese American photographer Yoichi Okamoto\, from his roots in Central New York and work in postwar Austria to his years as President Lyndon B. Johnson’s White House photographer. \nThrough candid photographs\, Photographer in the Service of Democracy offers an intimate look at the people\, places\, and moments surrounding presidential power and a transformative period in American history. The exhibition also considers the role of photography in documenting\, interpreting\, and shaping the public’s understanding of history. \nThe exhibition is curated by Hans Petschar\, Ph.D.\, with exhibition design by Hannes Richter. \nGallery Hours: Wednesday–Friday\, 12:00–6:00 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday\, 12:00–8:00 p.m.

SUMMARY:Historic Hotel Syracuse Tour
DESCRIPTION:Onondaga Historical Association (OHA)\, in cooperation with the Marriott Syracuse Downtown\, conducts historic tours and presentations at the “Hotel Syracuse” on the third Monday of every other month at 11am\, or by appointment. Each event will last approximately an hour and a half and will hold 15 people. Tours begin at the front desk of the hotel\, where your tour guide will meet you. Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start of your tour. \nReservations are required and must be made by the Thursday before at 3 pm. Absolutely no walk-ins will be permitted. Cancellations must be done one week before the schedule tour in order to get a refund. The price per person is $20\, or $15 if you are a member of OHA. \nReserve your spot for our next tour now! \nPlease call 315-428-1864 x 312 with any questions. \nEvent Parking at Marriott Syracuse Downtown: Parking garage at Harrison Street and Harrison Place.
