Washington St.\, Syracuse\, NY\nFree and open to the public \nExplore the remarkable career of Japanese American photographer Yoichi Okamoto\, from his roots in Central New York and work in postwar Austria to his years as President Lyndon B. Johnson’s White House photographer. \nThrough candid photographs\, Photographer in the Service of Democracy offers an intimate look at the people\, places\, and moments surrounding presidential power and a transformative period in American history. The exhibition also considers the role of photography in documenting\, interpreting\, and shaping the public’s understanding of history. \nThe exhibition is curated by Hans Petschar\, Ph.D.\, with exhibition design by Hannes Richter. \nGallery Hours: Wednesday–Friday\, 12:00–6:00 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday\, 12:00–8:00 p.m.

SUMMARY:Full Circle Design Competition Presentation and Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free public presentation on Tuesday\, November 10\, at 6 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church\, 220 E. Fayette St.\, Syracuse. \nThis juried competition introduces three new concepts for Syracuse’s Columbus Circle and neighboring Powelson Site.
