Black Sabbath and its headman Ozzy Ozbourne are well known in the Rock n Roll community, but in the late 1970s and early 80s, Cortland’s Ronnie James Dio took over lead vocals for the metal group. On May 22nd, 1982, on their Mob Rules Tour, Black Sabbath came to Syracuse and played the Onondaga County War Memorial with Dio at the helm. After the show, local music historian, Ron Wray, was lucky enough to get a photo with Dio and Howie Castle.
