Holiday Open House & Book Talk

December 4 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

OHA is hosting a holiday open house! Enjoy an evening of extended hours, complete with refreshments, musical entertainment, a book talk, storewide sales, and a special free gift from OHA! We will be open until 7pm on December 4th, allowing our guests plenty of time to do their holiday shopping. Everything in the Gift Gallery – including brand-new books, apparel, housewares, and jewelry selections – will be 15% off for members, 10% for nonmembers. For your convenience, we are also offering free gift wrapping!

Coinciding with the event, author Glenn Ivers will be hosting a book talk and signing for the launch of his new book, Angels of Bastogne.  The book is based on the true story of the American doctor, Captain John T. “Jack” Prior of Manlius, NY, and the Belgian nurses Renee Lemaire and Augusta Chiwy who volunteered in his aid station in Bastogne, Belgium that was bombed on Christmas Eve, 1944.

Angels of Bastogne also tells the story of soldiers and civilians swept up in the struggle for control of the strategic town during the Battle of the Bulge, and of veterans who reunited in Bastogne in 1994 to reminisce and remember fallen comrades.
