2018 OHA Medal Breakfast Honoring Mike Moss, Alissa Viti, and Allen Naples
May 3, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am$50.00 – $125
The 2018 Onondaga Historical Association (OHA) Medal will be awarded to three individuals: Michael Moss for his work in preserving and advancing the history of Onondaga County’s Jewish community; Alissa Viti, Manager of Charitable and Community Relations at M&T Bank, for her dedication to educating the public about our community’s history through the funding of OHA programs and exhibitions; and Allen Naples for his leadership and his commitment to financing the restoration and adaptive reuse of our historic architecture, an important component of our community’s very identity.
This year’s event will take place at the Persian Terrace in the beautifully restored Marriott Syracuse Downtown (formerly the Hotel Syracuse) on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. The OHA Medal is the highest honor that this organization can bestow for contributions made to the cause of preserving and interpreting our heritage. The Medal is a two-sided, bronze piece struck in 1894 to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the founding of Onondaga County.
Since OHA is the largest and longest standing institution in this community devoted to conserving and presenting our history, one might also consider this medal the highest tribute that can be awarded on behalf of the entire Onondaga County community to those that ensure that our history remains a vital part of our future. This is only the 27th OHA Medal ceremony since its inception in 1945.
Thank you to our sponsors!
